You should check out the customer service reputation of the alkaline water filter manufacturer.  Even if one of the companies mentioned above doesn’t disappear, they may not provide any customer service to speak of.  If you ever need filters, parts, or service, you will not get them from one of the lesser established companies.

In addition to evaluating the manufacturer’s customer service, look at the price they charge for replacement filters and for shipping and handling of the replacement filters.  There are some companies that overcharge in this area.  Much like replacement ink being a profit center for printer manufacturers, replacement cartridges for an alkaline water filter can be very expensive.  Look for a company that prices them reasonably.
